Community Events

1) Family Workshops - Jumpstart will be hosting a series of workshops to show parents how to incorporate early childhood literacy into everyday activities at home. They will be held at 66 Raymond St., San Francisco, CA, 94134 every Thursday beginning July 17 to August 21, 2008 from 4:30-7:30pm. Volunteers will assist by reading to children and engaging them in literacy-related activities while parents attend the workshop.

2) Summer of Opportunity – Jumpstart will be attending this family event to host a table and reach out to the Bayview community’s children and their families. We’ll need volunteers to help us engage kids in our literacy activities — this is a great opportunity to work directly with kids and exposing them to the excitement of learning and reading! The event will be at the Oakdale Housing Development in San Francisco and we need volunteers for 2 shifts: 9:30am to12:30pm and/or 12 to 3:30pm.
